Recruiting a skilled workforce

Screening our candidates

Our skilled labour recruitment consultants assess, reference check and stringently vet all potential team members we find, working closely with our labour managers to ensure they have the right skills and experience, and are a perfect fit for our business and our clients’ needs. This includes face to face interviews, a thorough background check and reference investigation.

Induction and ongoing training

All of our skilled workers, labourers and professionals complete online induction training and additional skills training to overcome any gaps identified in the recruitment process. Our training programs are ran in-house and off-site by trusted third party training providers so that our workers are fit for the role and can deliver the quality outcomes you expect. Areas covered include safety (such as first aid and working safely at heights) as well as general skills (such as Rail Industry Workers Card, operating a forklift elevated work platform and confined space). All of our skilled workforce must also supply certificates of qualifications and, at a client’s request, complete onsite competency training so that skills linked to certain licenses are current.

Conducting safety inspections

We’re serious about safety. Our policy is Think Safe, Work Safe, Go Home Safe. Our Workplace Health and Safety Manager works with our labour managers to keep our workers safe on your project site. Our team is happy to conduct a worksite safety assessment when you move to a new project site to identify likely risks and issues, and provide solutions to mitigate them. These initial safety inspections are followed up by regular site visits by our labour managers.

Dedicated account management

Working as a team and providing a professional, yet personal service is how we do business.

When you first meet us, our sales representatives spend time with you building an in-depth understanding of your business, it’s labour needs and your expectations. These insights are shared with our labour recruitment consultants who source the best people for your needs. Once selected, and your project begins, we provide you with one central contact point through a dedicated labour manager who becomes your relationship partner. He/she works closely with you, continuing to build the relationship by regularly visiting your work site to see how the project is progressing, how our workers are performing, whether any additional workers are required and to conduct safety checks and discuss upcoming projects.

Of course you have on-call access to our sales representatives and labour managers at all times. At BriX Projects, teamwork is essential. And it’s all simply part of the quality skilled labour hire and recruitment service we provide.

Managing payroll

You save significant time and cost by leaving the hassle of payroll to our team, who handles all aspects of payroll from weekly pay, to payroll taxation services and group certificates. All of our skilled workforce are paid in accordance to the Building and Construction General and Onsite Award 2010, and our electrical workers in accordance to the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2010. All we ask you to do is sign our workers’ timesheets at the end of each week, and at the end of the project, so we can process wages each week. And, to make it easy for you, we send you one simple invoice to each of your project sites every week for processing.

Arranging superannuation/Insurance

Enjoy less stress, and save time and money because our team takes superannuation and insurance payments (including workers compensation, professional indemnity and public liability) responsibilities off your hands.

Managing workers’ performance

Our involvement doesn’t stop once a worker is placed on site. Our labour manager regularly contacts you to get feedback on his/her performance and on your level of satisfaction with our labourer’s skills, experience, productivity and work ethic.
